IMA is proud to announce that it has obtained the ISCC-EU’ certification according to the RED-Directive (Renewable Energy Directive) for its bioethanol since January 2012.

This certification prove that our bioethanol is sustainable and therefore satisfies the requirement of 35% as minimum save of Co2.

IMA srl is the first Italian Company, in the bioethanol sector, to have obtained such certification.

The certification system chosen by IMA, which is the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC-EU) is the most widely known voluntary certification system recognized by the EU.

In order to respect the requirements set out by the European Directive 2009/28/EC, all the production’ s phases of bioethanol are certified under the ISCC’ system.

The ISCC system is recognized internationally and it is valid in all 27 European Member States.

Thanks to this certification, IMA is able to market its product as sustainable bioethanol from an environmental and social point of view.

IMA has, in addition to this, put in place a system of control according to the requirements set out by the 2BSVS for the bioethanol produced from by-products, grape marc and wine-lees, in other world, for the products known as “double counting”, and this in order to answer mainly to the different Market’ s needs, obtaining therefore the 2BSVS certification on 8/09/2014.

According to the recent legislation approved in Italy (DM 02/03/2018), the bioethanol produced by IMA as from 2018, will be counted separately for the obligation of consumption of a certain percentage of biofuels considered “advanced”* or of “second generation” following the below table:
